014 | Rick Porcello | MTB Performance Project

In this week’s episode we have my good friend and former big league pitcher, Rick Porcello.

We get into his exposure to multiple sports at a young age, his development as a youth ball player into high school, what impacted his decision to forgo college and go in the 2007 MLB draft and some of the things that helped him make the jump from HS to pro ball in just two short years.

We then get into his development during his 12 years in the big leagues along with how he continued to build himself year over year.

Along with the physical side of the game, we touched on his thoughts as a team mate and a competitor. How he saw his role as a starting pitcher and the approach he took in going about his craft.

Lastly we get into his life off the field and his ability to remove distraction from his life and truly focus on his development and his ability to compete in the big leagues.

I hope you enjoy this episode of the MTB Performance Project.

Best,
MTB
